*****Book Returns*****
Dear Parents/Guardians
On the evening of Thursday 18th of June the class teachers will be returning any belongings, books and copies belonging to the children and they will be collecting any books from the school book scheme. It is essential that the school books are returned on Thursday as we want to avoid unnecessary interaction at the start of the new term. If you are unable to attend please arrange with another parent to return books and collect belongings on your behalf.
The teachers will set up just inside the school gate. There will be two time slots from 5-6pm for Juniors to 2nd Class and from 6-7pm for 3rd to 6th Class.
We ask that only parents attend and that the social distancing guidelines are carefully observed.
Kind Regards,
Ms Fullam

Dear Parents,
I hope you are all keeping well and have enjoyed a nice weekend .Please see below the work for this week. As I mentioned last week my plan is to finish out the books this week and to try and do a little more project work this month, I am trying to fit in the things that we would normally do in June like sports days and I'm hoping to do some virtual school tours via Zoom. I also mentioned to the children last week that we might try and have a live baking class on Zoom and a live PE/Sports class. I know it's challenging at the best of times at this time of year to keep the children motivated and on task not to mind in the current climate so after this week I hope to minimise the written tasks and focus on projects and challenges in the outdoors. All feedback and suggestions are welcome as my ideas pool is getting shallow!
Can I just mention also that the Seesaw app has been alive this week with creativity, fun and thinking outside the box, it has been some of the best work the children have done since Covid began and I think that all of you deserve massive kudos for the effort and ingenuity that you have shown! If you haven't had a chance to check out Seesaw please do, it is the most positive thing you'll see at the minute... I'm so proud of all of the children and their many contributions. Thank you all for helping them to make all of this a possibility.

Cúla4 ar Scoil - Week 8
Available on TG4 at 10am from Monday to Friday
Cúla4 ar Scoil Week 8 – The Environment – (8th-12th June)
This week’s theme ‘ The Environment’ observes and explores the different ways in which plant and animal behaviour is influenced by, or adapted to, environmental conditions.
Fiachra will identify the basic requirements of living things for survival and look at the interdependence between plants and animals in local and other habitats. He will introduce the concept of food chains and webs. He will illustrate the vital role of bees to our ecosystem and to food production and encourage us to become more active in looking after our environment.
Caitríona will help us describe animals in relation to their diet, habitats and how they move. She will be demonstrating how Arctic animals’ thick layer of blubber allows them to survive in one of the most extreme climates in the world. She will explore the role of colour and pattern in protecting certain animals by camouflaging them and show us how to use a paintbrush and sponge to recreate some of these patterns. Caitríona will also identify some simple recycling and reusing strategies to protect, preserve and improve our local environment.
In Maths, Caitríona will be using sand, water and a variety of standard and non-standard units to explore Capacity. Fiachra will collect data on rainfall and living things in his own garden and show us how to record this data using a graph and pie chart.
Join Cúla4 ar Scoil Monday to Friday from 10am. Lessons from the programmes are available on YouTube Cúla4 and catch-up with programmes you’ve missed on Cúla4.com
During the programme Cúla4 ar Scoil, children will be invited to participate at home and will be asked to send in pictures or videos of their work to the programme. The content will also be available online on Cula4.com and on Cúla4 YouTube.

Art Project (Due Wednesday 10th): Following from the amazing successes of our Recreating the Masters project I would like the children to compose a factfile on the artist that they focused on for their project. Information about the artist such as;
Place of birth, personal history of the artist, how he/she became a painter, where their work is on display, most famous works and any other information that would be interesting to include. It might be interesting for the children to see if any of their artists' work is available to view via a virtual tour.
Science/Food project (Due Wednesday 10th): I would like the children to make/prepare a favourite healthy breakfast, photograph it and upload it on to Seesaw. Can they identify the different food groups e.g. carbohydrates, protein, dairy etc. Write the recipe and post it with the picture!

Abair Liom :The children find these tasks quite challenging and some of this might be quite difficult to do independently so I've decided instead to ask them to start a vocabulary notebook A-Z English-Irish with space for phrases in the back.
If they could pick words from each unit in the book and write them into a notebook, they might draw a little picture beside the Irish word to help them remember.
This week we will focus on Unit 15 and 16- Na Séasúir, these will be the last chapters the children will revise as we didn't get further than this when we finished up in March.
An Nuacht: Please find attached An Nuacht template which the children can complete daily.

Cúla4 ar Scoil - Week 7
Available on TG4 at 10am from Monday to Friday
Cúla4 ar Scoil – Theme “Myself”- Week 7- 1st– 5th June
During this week’s theme “Myself” the teachers will be looking at the physical traits and personal characteristics of people. The junior classes will be reading and writing journal entries and the senior classes will be composing a character profile.
Caitríona will be helping us recognise and deal with our feelings. She will be demonstrating how our sense of sight enables us to detect information about the environment and protect our bodies while Fiachra will be presenting the structure and function of the Respiratory System. He will also explore the reasons why we make some of the important personal choices we make, for example smoking cigarettes.
We will be learning how to draw a self-portrait from observation and how to create a history journal recording the important dates and events in our lives. Fiachra will present two very different pieces of music for us to compare and contrast from a dynamic, tempo and pitch point of view and he will discuss how these musical concepts help evoke particular emotions.
In Maths this week Caitríona will play a Classifying game and present activities to develop our understanding of problem solving with subtraction. Fiachra will be drawing our attention to lines of symmetry in the environment and he will introduce a fun activity to practise our estimation and long multiplication skills.

PE
Body Coach at 9am , Joe Wicks is doing 30 minute PE lessons live on his YouTube page.
Cosmic Kids Yoga is another lovely resource for PE time and a nice way to work on breathing techniques and relaxation in these anxious times
Diary Entry: Write a Diary Entry of your daily experience of being at home.
E-mail a friend or family member: Everyday I would like the children to email a different friend or family member daily to check in with them and swap stories about how isolation is going for them.
Art: I was telling the children about a quirky Art Project that we are going to work on, I have put a link to explain it onto the Seesaw App. Basically the idea is that the children will recreate a Masters Masterpiece. The children can use household objects to recreate these famous masterpieces, if you check out the link it explains it in detail. I think this would be such a great memento of our Covid 19 experience and they would make for great viewing on the school website! I will be getting feedback from the children on these projects this week, I'm really excited to see what creative masterpieces that have achieved!
Project/Sports Week: Please see attachments
So this week we are going to do our own version of a virtual/remote sports week.
Tuesday: Outdoor Sensory Scavenger Hunt (see attached)
Wednesday: Yoga (see attached), we will attempt to do some of these live on Zoom on Wednesday!
Thursday/Friday: (see attached) This weeks project is that I would like the children to create their own obstacle courses, I am also going to ask the children to either ask someone to film them doing their obstacle course and upload it onto Seesaw or I'm going to ask them to film it live during our Zoom sessions so that the others can see (this would be preferable if its possible!)

Cúla 4 ar Scoil Week 6 - Sa BhaileThe theme being explored by the teachers on Cúla4 ar Scoil this week is ‘At Home’. Caitríona will interview the wolf from the story The Three Little Pigs and rewrite the story from the wolf’s perspective. He isn’t the baddie in the story at all, who would have known?! In the history lesson, Caitríona will teach sequences by putting pictures from this and other stories in the correct order. Materials used to build houses will be explored in the science lesson and in the music lesson, Caitríona creates graphic symbols of household sounds and uses them to make music.
After Fiachra the auctioneer (teacher in role) shows us various homes from around the country, we learn how to describe our own home to entice people to buy it. In the art lesson, Fiachra builds the bedroom of his dreams by using recycled materials from the home.
In the geography lesson, Fiachra looks at homes from around the globe and explores one of the major issues of our community at the moment ‘Homelessness’ in the SPHE lesson.
In the maths lesson both teachers will help us identify and expand patterns. Fiachra will explore the rules and properties of sequences in numbe

May 5th to May 8th:
Good Evening All,
Hope you are all well, just a few quick notes, Mrs Hyland has uploaded 4th class maths onto the website and answers for last weeks work.
I was also in touch with Ms Watson to organise Zoom meetings for 3rd class maths in the small group format she used in school, she will be in touch with the relevant children's parents to organise this.
Finally I just wanted to check in with any of you who are finding it challenging to engage with Zoom because of limited access to devices at home. Please get in touch if this is the case and maybe this is something we can try and help you with. I know Zoom is not a perfect system but it does have many benefits not least the social connection and in reality it's the only live classroom available to us until September. I would really love to see as much participation as possible. Please contact me if there is some way that we can help you to get involved if you aren't already. I am here to help and support you in any way I can with distance learning.
That's it for now,
Take care,
Ms Fullam

Dear Parents,
A few of you have been looking for ideas for Gaeilge, here are a few simple ones to get you going, please see attached resources to help.
A few parents have been using Duolingo and are finding it very good so that is a resource worth tapping into. Another thing that is very useful in language acquisition is labeling things, they're a really good visual reminder and a great way to build vocabulary. So in the children's bedrooms if they label some every day items such as an fuinneog, cathaoir, leaba etc and maybe the same in the kitchen, fridge-cuisneoir and things like that...
Also to get chat going it's a good idea to have some comhrá cards just for basic ceisteanna. , maybe if sibllings worked on this together and took it in turns to question and answer. I found comhra ceisteanna on twinkl and I've attached them in this email. Go with these ideas to start with and see how you get on and if you need anything further let me know.
Thanks,
Ms Fullam

If they could pick words from each unit in the book and write them into a notebook, they might draw a little picture beside the Irish word to help them remember.
This week we will focus on Unit 7 and 8.

April 27th to May 1st:
Good Afternoon All,
I hope you are all well, just a quick message to touch base and to let you know how Zoom is going. Personally, I'm really enjoying it, it's so nice and uplifting to see the children and to catch up with them all. We are getting some work covered also which is great. If there is any possibility of the restrictions being lifted some bit and I can access my childminder again I hope to be able to do a bit more if it's the case that schools are not going to be reopened. I really feel its beneficial for the children to participate, I have told them that there is no pressure to have the work completed as I know it's not possible in every household for many reasons. I still encourage the children to try and participate in Zoom if they can, it's so good for the social connection, and to continue that connection to school. I am also aware there is very little motivation to do the less fun work without interaction from teachers etc...
You have been fantastic in helping me facilitate these Zoom meetings and I really appreciate it, it wouldn't happen without you all. I mentioned to a parent earlier that the silver lining in all of this is parents and teachers working so collaboratively together and it's something that we will all benefit from in the aftermath of Covid 19.
Finally, I have a suggestion for some family viewing, four years ago for the 1916 Centenary celebrations, RTE produced an amazing showcase of music & dance to tell the story of the Rising and the fallout afterwards. It is a really brilliant watch and would be a lovely one for the children to see, its available on YouTube and it was on the RTE Player and possibly still is. It's a perfect opportunity to watch this and the children are much more likely to enjoy it and engage with it with parents watching on too as you can fill them in on anything they don't really understand. It's called RTE Centenary.
Thanks again for all of your support,
Ms F

Louth, Westmeath and Longford are also available if any child is looking for more project work!
This will be due in for next week, I will organise Zoom sessions in groups of 5/6 next week to give the children an opportunity to feedback and present their project. It worked so well last week especially with the project work, I think the children enjoyed it and it is an opportunity to work on their oral language& organisational skills. I'll follow up on this email with Zoom meeting invitations for both classes for tomorrow, Wednesday and THursday. The plan for these meetings is a bit of social time, some correcting of work and also some work on literacy, reading and vocabulary work from Reading Zone.
I hope you are all well and that you're managing the cabin fever! I'll be in touch during the week, take care and stay safe,

Dear Parents,
I hope this email finds you all well, a big thank you to you all for helping the children to engage with the Zoom meetings last week and for encouraging their participation on the Seesaw app. I thought that both have been a great success so far and with the exception of some technical problems for some students, I think it has been pretty straightforward to access. I am hoping that we might be able to do some more 'Zoom' meetings with the children this week. As I mentioned last week I am aware that not all of you have access to devices but to those who can manage it I think the children would really benefit from it. I plan to do Zoom lessons this week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I will forward the meeting times and what we will be doing each day tomorrow.

This week we will focus on Unit 5 and 6.

This is going to have to work on trial and error, I have participated in a few of these meetings but haven't yet hosted but it seems to be pretty straight forward. So hopefully it will all go as planned, I'm really looking forward to seeing the kids. Could you ask them to have their Master Your Maths and their New Wave English workbooks please? I'm not sure if we will get to correct tomorrow but it will be great to connect to start with.
The meetings are going to be about 40 minutes aprox.
Hope this is okay, it would be great to have as much participation as possible but I'm aware that it may not be available to all so no pressure, I encourage you to do what is manageable for your situation.
Thanks Again,
Ms Fullam

April 20th to 24th:
Dear Parents,
I hope this email finds you well and a little bit more rested after the Easter break, we will resume our distance learning from tomorrow and thank you all for your contributions and feedback so far.
It looks like we may be back to school before too long with the restrictions hopefully easing from the 5th of May. It has been suggested in the news this weekend that we might be returning to school buildings on a phased basis which I think we would all be delighted with! For now though, we will continue with what we have been doing.
I am hoping that we might be able to try some 'Zoom' meetings with the children, this is an online meeting forum and works very well. I think it would be very useful for correcting work and getting feedback from the children but mostly for the children to connect with each other.
If you are familiar and have the app and have been using it all the better but for those of you who are not familiar with it you will need to download the app 'ZOOM' to your smart phone or tablet and I will email a link to a scheduled meeting at a specific time, then you click into the join meeting link at the specified time. I am aware that not all of you have access to devices but to those who can manage it I think the children would really benefit from it. Let me know if this is something available to you and I will try and organise a Zoom meeting for Tuesday 21st. I propose that we split the class into their two class groupings, 3rd and 4th, the meetings only last for about 40 minutes but it will give the children a chance to really connect with the online classroom and each other. If it is a success we should be able to do some corrections and talk through any of the assigned work that is proving challenging.

March 23rd-27th 2020:
Final Note:
I just want to thank you all for your cooperation and patience, this is a learning curve and a challenge for all of us. I'm so glad that you are all helping your children to engage in this distant learning under challenging circumstances. I think you should give yourselves a massive pat on the back and have a great weekend!
Take care & stay safe,
Ms F

Good evening all,
It seems that there were quite a few technical glitches with Mangahigh today, I did manage to access it this morning and do the tasks but I'm going to look at it more at the weekend and I'll hopefully be able to give you more guidance and instruction on that for next week. Apologies if it caused any inconvenience today.
Just in terms of responding to you all I'm afraid I'm sharing the desktop with my husband who is working from home so I am trying to get on in the mornings and evenings but it's not easy for me to get access during the day so please don't feel I'm ignoring you if you have made contact, I will always respond to queries either in a group mail or individually. The technical pieces are going to pose challenges I'm sure as I mentioned before I am not a techie at all but I'm hoping that some of the programs that are easy to access will make home tuition a bit more interactive and interesting for the children.
I invited anyone I had e-mail addresses for to gain access to class dojo which I am also hoping to do some exploratory work on this weekend. I'm told that this might offer opportunities to share videos and maybe upload pictures of the children's work etc. Again I need to spend time on this at the weekend but I just wanted to get you all on board first.
In terms of the European projects, we had assigned the children into groups ad given each group of children a country to explore. We decided to use different topics within this; 1.Country factfile (to include, population, language, currency, longest river, highest mountain, national emblem, national anthem etc) 2.Traditions and Customs 3. Food 4. Famous Landmarks 5. Interesting Historical Facts and anything else the children would like to add. Initially the plan was for everyone in the group to take one of these headings but it might be difficult to do this at a distance unless you can make contact with the other children. If it's not possible perhaps your child could do a shortened version using the headings above. This can be presented in any way you like, on display paper, in the copy, in a power point presentation , whatever is manageable for you and your child.
I'm hoping to have the full weeks work uploaded by Monday morning.
I won't upload over the Easter holidays, we will work from the school calendar.
I think it could be nice to do a class novel as The Midnight Gang is almost completed at this stage. I might choose one and let you know the title next week and if its possible to pick up a copy we could work through that also until we are back in action.
Thanks for your patience today, I know how frustrating it is when you can't gain access, hopefully this will be resolved by Monday.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend,
Thanks for taking the time to feedback to me today,
Ms F

Mangahigh Website: 10 minutes.
(I have assigned the children an assignment on Mangahigh (basically Maths games covering different topics)
The Log in is Ms Fullams Class, and password is walshislandns.
I tried to send you a link which has a powerpoint about how to use the website. I think all of our assignments are going to be under Ms Fullams 3rd class, If you just sign in using your full name! Let me know how you get on, the 3rd class assignment relates to 2D Shapes and the 4th class, is a mental maths number activity!
Good Luck!)

They can describe her character, her background and her role in The Midnight Gang. How is Sally's situation different from the other children?

David Walliams is also providing online audio books for 30 days on his website, Audio Elevenses on the World of David Walliams website. Grubby Gertrude was read today, it is very entertaining and a nice way to spend some time with headphones on! (Great for any parents who are working from home)
Gaeilge:
The children can access Abair Liom F online, we have been working on An aimsir, they are on Unit 16. If they read and listen to the scéalta online for Unit 15 & 16.
Ceacht D lch 132: The children will continue onto Ex D today on pg 132, Cé chomh minic? (How often?) They have 2 lists, go minic (often) and anois is arís (now and then). Art: Sit in your garden and draw something that you think is beautiful, it could be a flower, a bird, a nest, a tree etc.
PE
Every day at 9am the Body Coach Joe Wicks is hosting 30 minute PE lessons live on his YouTube page. I'm sure that these will also be saved as workouts and can be done throughout the day. He also has 8 minute and 5 minute workouts suitable for children also. I really would like the children to spend an hour exercising daily as part of this work, they can use trampolines, follow workout programs, play tennis or basketball with a sibling or parent, whatever they choose but I think an hours exercise daily will help them burn off steam and help keep them and you sane in these strange times.
Cosmic Kids Yoga is another lovely resource for PE time and a nice way to work on breathing techniques and relaxation in these anxious times.
Diary Entry: Write a Diary Entry of your daily experience of being at home.
European Country Project Work: Just before the C19 situation escalated the children were working on projects in teams of 4, perhaps you could encourage your children to liaise with the other children via email or skype to continue these projects. I'm going to give a deadline of next Thursday for these projects to be completed.
If anyone has completed their project please get in touch and I will give you another one to start working on!
E-mail a friend or family member: Everyday I would like the children to email a different friend or family member daily to check in with them and swap stories about how isolation is going for them.
NEW PROJECT: I'm sure that many of you have been baking and cooking a lot more since all of the restrictions have been in place, I want the children to select their favourite recipe and maybe even bake or cook it and take pictures between now and Monday, next week we will write a procedural piece on the steps and swap with each other! If anyone is stuck for a simple recipe I have a few to share just let me know.
Music: Revise your songs, Big Yellow Taxi, Tóg mo lámh and It All Works Out.

Dear Parents,
Thank you to those of you who sent on your email addresses and if you haven't had a chance I just want to remind you to send it on please when you get a chance.
I believe there is some confusion regarding the workbooks and where the children are on them. We are going to continue as normal covering one unit per week, I assigned more than this on Thursday 12th of March but at that stage we really didn't know how long this situation was going to continue for. By the end of this weeks we should have 2 weeks work covered in each of the 3 workbooks. I hope that makes it clearer for everyone. I don't have copies of the workbooks so unfortunately I don't have page numbers.
Here is the work for today Tuesday 24th of March.

Every day at 9am the Body Coach Joe Wicks is hosting 30 minute PE lessons live on his YouTube page. I'm sure that these will also be saved as workouts and can be done throughout the day. He also has 8 minute and 5 minute workouts suitable for children. I really would like the children to spend an hour exercising daily as part of this work, they can use trampolines, follow workout programs, play tennis or basketball with a sibling or parent, whatever they choose but I think an hours exercise daily will help them burn off steam and help keep them and you sane in these strange times.
Diary Entry: Write a Diary Entry of your daily experience of being at home. These will be amazing documents to look back on when the children are older.
That's it for Tuesday, have a good day.

Please refer to useful websites on the home page for lots of different activities that can be completed at home.
Dear Parents,
I hope you are all feeling well and that you and your families are managing to get
through this Covid 19 outbreak. It is a very fearful time and it is having a serious
impact on all of us. I hope all of the children are doing well, at this stage I’m sure that
they are missing their friends and their normal routines.
My plan going forward is to issue work for the children to complete daily, I intend to include extra PE and
movement activities as well as their regular work. If you as parents are not able to
oversee this with your child or you feel that this will add to the stress of the current
situation I encourage you to do what you can manage. This is intended to support the
children but also you as parents and to offer some structure to the day. I have set up a
class email address; [email protected]
If you have queries you can direct them to me here.
The children will need a maths copy and a general copy to complete all other work. For
correction purposes and to keep a record of the completed work, we will stick to using
just two copies. The work that was set for them last Thursday was intended to get
them through to the 29 th of March, however, as there has been very little else for the
children to do since then I imagine that a lot of this work has been completed. My
intention is to upload work to the school website daily starting from Monday 23 rd of
March. It seems certain that we will not be back to school this side of Easter so I will
upload daily until Friday 3 rd of April. Can I ask all parents to forward their email
addresses to the above email address please?
Finally, we are all missing the daily buzz, chat and energy that your children bring to
our working day. I am wishing you all strength, health and peace at this time.
Warm Regards,
Ms C Fullam
Valentines Cards February 2020
- Ms Fullam's 3rd and 4th Class made beautiful cards for Valentines Day!
Spin Painting
13/02/19: In February, we explored spin painting. We looked at the artist Damien Hirst and his spin paintings. We made love hearts for Valentine's Day. We used a salad spinner and Lazy Susan's to create spin art. Take a look.
The Titanic
January 2019: We are learning all about the Titanic this month. We will explore this theme in History, Drama, English, Science and Art.
21/01/19: Today in History, we worked as History detectives. We examined primary and secondary sources and gathered information about the Titanic. These sources included: paintings of The Titanic sinking, a brochure about The Titanic, a lunch menu from the ship and statements from survivors.
Art
13/02/19: For the month of January, we made a Titanic nightscape collage using newspaper. We started by making the night sky and then we made the sea using blue pieces of newspaper. Lastly, we made the Titanic ship out of newspaper. They turned out really well. Take a look!
History
13/02/19: For History, we each got a name of someone who traveled or worked on the Titanic. For homework, we researched our individual and prepared a poster detailing their journey. We presented our projects to the class. They were all excellent. Well done!
Synchronized Swimming
We hope you enjoy the videos of our synchronized swimming dance routines. We worked very hard the past few weeks preparing our dance routines in groups. We performed our dances for other classes in the school. They all had a great laugh!

Money
10/12/18: Last week, we learned all about money. Our task today was to plan a Christmas dinner party for a family of 6 using an ALDI catalogue. We had a budget of €100.
Debate: Can you live on Mars?
30/11/18: Today we completed our debates on the topic of living on Mars. The 'For' team debated that life on Mars is very possible while the 'Against' team debated that life on Mars is impossible. Congratulations to the 'Against' team who convinced Miss Hogan and the listeners that life on Mars is not possible. Also, congratulations to Matthew who was voted the overall debating winner with his excellent debating skills. Well done everyone!
TRAPPIST-1 System
28/11/18: We worked really well in small groups this week to complete a project on the planets in the TRAPPIST-1 System. Did you know that in 2016, seven planets were found orbiting the TRAPPIST star? Three of these are earth-sized planets!
We used our imagination and creativity to come up with suitable Irish names and myths for the planets in the TRAPPIST-1 system, similar to how the planets in our solar system were named after Roman and Greek gods.

Our 3D Buildings for Planet Mars
22/11/18: In Maths, we are learning all about 3-D shapes. As the solar system is our theme this month, Miss Hogan asked us to make buildings for planet Mars. We used cuboids, cubes, cylinders, cones and triangular prisms to make our buildings. We did a great job!
Fire Safety
15/11/18: Today, we got a visit from two firemen from Edenderry Fire Station. They taught us how to check our fire alarms. They told us about the importance of having an assembly point in your house and school. We learned all about the hazards around the house.
Science Week
13/11/18: This week is Science week. Today, Miss Hogan gave us 2 sheets of A4 paper and asked us to balance as many books as we can on top of these two sheets of paper. One group even balanced the Bible!
Peter Thorpe Space Art
13/11/18: Our theme for the month of November is the solar system. In Art, we responded to the work of Peter Thorpe's space art. We used wax crayons to draw our space art and then used black diluted paint to create a wax resist. We then drew our rockets on another page and stuck them down onto our space art.
The Moon
14/11/18: In Geography, we explored the moons surface and its texture. We looked at the craters on the moon. We explored how these craters were made. We put white flour into a container. Over the flour, we put cocoa powder. We threw rocks into the container which created craters in the cocoa powder.
Maths Stations
8/11/18: Today, we started doing Maths stations. We are learning how to multiply. We played fun multiplication games in groups. Take a look at our slideshow.
Watch how we made rockets!
7/11/18: 3rd and 4th class are learning all about space this month. Today we learned how to build our own foam rockets with Miss Hogan. Watch the video to find out how to make them!
Ancient Egypt
25/10/18: We learned all about Ancient Egypt this month. Take a look at all of our work. In History and Drama, we explored the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb. We also looked at hieroglyphic script, the Ancient Egyptian language. We made a classroom door display using hieroglyphic script which says, "Welcome to third and fourth class." In Art, we made canopic jars out of clay. These were used in Ancient Egyptian times to store the organs of mummmies. In Geography, we learned how the river Nile floods every year. We made sample floodplains and flooded them every week. Look at the picture to see how the grass grew beside the river. We also wrote messages in bottles in the role of Egyptian people. In Drama, we imagined to be tomb raiders robbing precious treasure from Pharaoh's tombs.
