GREEN SCHOOLS
Amber Flag
- This school year 2019/2020 we have set about working on achieving the amber flag.
- The amber flag initiative recognises the individual efforts of primary and secondary schools, companies and groups to create healthy, inclusive environments that support mental well-being.
- We are beginning by starting our yoga classes in the new year and holding our friendship week in February.
Green Flag
This school year we have begun our mission to obtain a Green Flag. Our first task is to manage litter and waste in our school. We have set up a Green Schools committee and we have been very busy organising our bins into general waste, recyclable waste and compostable waste.
On our committee we have a boy and girl from every class in the school, we have two parents representatives, Betty our school cleaner and our teachers Ms Delaney and Ms Fullam are coordinating this project.
We have enlisted the help of all of the children, the teachers and Orla from Offaly County Council to help us with this project. The committee have taken part in a Litter Pick Up, check out the photos below!
